Increased information capacity for local governance

Baseline study on the project ”Improving the information capacity for local governance "(2006)

Objectives:

- Determining the level of living of Isfara district households and obtaining basic information for subsequent evaluation of the effectiveness of development programs, which includes:

- Assessment of the households status;

- Assessment of local capacity, including capacity management, civil society and private sector capacity;

- Definition of the initial picture of households that will determine progress in program development;

- Ensure area/Jamoat development Committees with methodology and tools to perform basic research.

This study was timely and important event, which allowed obtaining the initial picture of Isfara district households, potential area and Jamoat. Conducting research in all 12 jamoats district and Isfara allowed to obtain an overall picture of the situation throughout the region and to develop the most appropriate recommendations for improving local governance. The results of basic research will serve as basis for the establishment extended database on the basic parameters of life-support area and will help to display scientifically changes of poverty level in the dynamics. In addition, the availability of baseline information will serve as the basis elaboration of strategic plans for development of Isfara district.

Meeting of the project partners

Within the framework of project “Community safety in the Ferghana Valley” which is implemented by PO ASTI (RT) in cooperation with the international organization “Saferworld” (UK), PF “Foundation for Tolerance International” (KR) and PO “MIR” (RT) on November 21-22, 2014 meeting of the project partners was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

Joint project of Safeworld and PO ASTI

“Preventing conflict through a participatory approach to the safety of border communities in the Ferghana Valley”. PO "ASTI" in partnership with the “Foundation for Tolerance International” and international organization «Saferworld» from June 2010 during 10 months are implementing the project “Preventing conflict through a participatory approach to the safety of border communities in the Ferghana Valley”.
